I treat the following addictions: gambling; alcohol; drugs; quit smoking; constant thoughts about food and compulsive eating; sex addiction; unfaithful behaviour; internet and mobile phone addiction; stalking and compulsions, such as excess shopping, hoarding and overspending.
This list is not exhaustive and the behaviour behind each share common themes. For example, I also appreciate that most people who gamble do not do so with the intention of winning but the excitement of the idea of winning whilst wanting to comprehend and beat a system. There may also be an unhappiness behind the behaviour, such as compensating for the loss of a loved one, for example.
What I guarantee is that you will be treated with the utmost respect and dignity. You are not your behaviour and you will not be labelled as such. I do not treat you as nor demand you refer to yourself as your problem i.e. it is easier to change a behaviour when you recognise it as such, as opposed to the behaviour becoming your identity e.g. “I have a problem with stopping drinking/drugs/shopping”, rather than “I am an alcoholic/drug addict/shopaholic.” Does that makes sense?
I deal with one addiction at a time because you will have different physiological and emotional triggers for each behaviour.
Managing addictions is a challenge and I generally recommend 6-12 sessions, even using my rapid methods for best results. Since clinical hypnosis is state dependent learning, you will need to be ‘clean’ i.e. 24 hours for drugs and 12 hours for alcohol. Tobacco is less important; however, your willingness to be a non-smoker will be best demonstrated by abstaining a few hours before your first session.
